I enjoyed this little book locally published in Malaysia and written by a lady known as a Christian philanthropist and entrepreneur. She came from a family who engaged in many good works and is an economist as well as being involved in a varied career in many successful business ventures.  I think this was probably written in such a way as not so much to be a definitely Christian book, but to appeal to a wider reading public.  She does not mention the Lord Jesus although she does bring in God a good deal as she writes short and perceptive chapters on the seven ‘f’s’.  Faith, family, finance, fitness, friends, fun and fruits, these, she insists are basic to a balanced life, they must be pursued wisely and in appropriate proportion, being given their proper value in order to be a whole person.  Each chapter is excellent considering its brevity.

It is not so much a self-help book but one that is informative and focuses in a sensible way on those things that really make for proper human living.  She writes interestingly and is thoroughly readable.  Her style includes a number of pithy sentences that generally strike their mark just on the bull’s-eye.  She also gives the reader a short testimony of her earlier life, the fact that she lived for the five ‘c’s’, which are cash, credit card, condo, club membership and car.  Physical sickness brought her to a change of priorities and a pathway that has been a blessing to others and in which she has found profound fulfillment.  Perhaps those in Malaysia who may read this little book brief will benefit from making the effort to obtain and read this and the endorsements that are contained in it from those who have known this lady and her life for many years.
